Baby, it is indeed cold outside… so that means we’re just over a month away from the Monaco rally. However, you don’t need to go to the tax haven for F1 drivers to get your icy rally fix. This week, 505 Games, Supernova Games Studios, and KUNOS Simulazioni have released the first major update for Assetto Corsa Rally in its early access period.

As announced yesterday, “505 Games and Supernova Games Studios, in technical partnership with KUNOS Simulazioni, are pleased to announce that Assetto Corsa Rally, the new rally sim within the Assetto Corsa series available in Early Access, receives its first major Early Access update (v.0.2).”

The press release continues, “This update introduces snowy and iced surfaces with the new scenario set in Livigno (Italian Alps), a new and legendary Rally car, overall bug fixes, and performance improvements. The new scenario features a laser-scanned reproduction of the ‘Ghiacciodromo Livigno’ Ice Circuit, a specialized ice driving circuit/school located on the outskirts of Livigno, a high-altitude resort town in the Italian Alps known for its snowy winters. This internationally renowned structure, surrounded by snow-covered landscapes, serves as a dedicated venue for ice driving courses, events, and adrenaline experiences on frozen surfaces.”

Alongside an Italian adventure where you can more or less kill your co-driver, there is a new addition to the 10 rally cars you can already play with. The 1973 Monte-Carlo winner with Jean-Claude Andruet, the Alpine A110. The same car would see the same success a further five times that year with Jean-Luc Thérier, Bernard Darniche, and Jean-Pierre Nicolas, including at the Sanremo Rally in Italy. It is also the car that won the first WRC Championship for Manufacturers in the WRC’s inaugural season.

Assetto Corsa Rally is available now on Steam during the Winter Sale with a 20% discount. Currently it is $23.99 (€23.99/£19.99), but normally it is $29.99 (€29.99/£24.99). Of course, there is also the bundle, offering Assetto Corsa EVO and Assetto Corsa Rally for a discount, which is typically 10% off, but with the sale, you get a 20% discount.
