I am a big fan of the Tales franchise. I’ve been playing the series since Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube, but I’ve gone back over the years and played some of the earlier titles too. Now, a game I actually missed out on is being remastered, and it is ironically one of the more recent titles.
Yesterday, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Tales of Berseria Remastered, a remastered version of the 2016 entry in the franchise that is often viewed as a distant soft-prequel to Tales of Zestiria. Tales of Berseria Remastered will be available on all major console platforms on February 27th, 2026. Here is what the press release says about Tales of Berseria Remastered:

“Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today announced that Tales of Berseria Remastered, an enhanced version of the beloved action RPG, will launch worldwide on February 27, 2026. The remastered title levels up a memorable entry in the TALES series for current platforms, letting players experience an epic tale with new gameplay and quality-of-life features. Tales of Berseria Remastered is available now for pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
In Tales of Berseria Remastered, players will follow the journey of Velvet Crowe as she embarks on a journey of vengeance and uncovers the mystery behind her brother’s murder. Players will embark on a tale torn between emotion and reason, where Velvet and her comrades slash through everyone in their path and navigate through emotional bonds and betrayal.

Tales of Berseria Remastered is a remastered version of TALES OF BERSERIA, first released in 2016. The remastered title features notable quality of life enhancements such as early access to the Grade Shop, destination icons, and the ability to toggle encounters. The title also includes downloadable content from the original release, featuring character costumes, bonus items, and other fan-favorite extras.”
While I wish Bandai Namco would get off their mountain of cash and remaster Tales of Abyss already, I’m pretty excited about this one. I’m always happy about preserving games, and since we haven’t heard anything about a follow-up to Tales of Arise (sequel or otherwise), this will hold some of us over. Anyone interested in a Tales of Legendia remaster, though? There’s a deep cut reference for you.
