The title “Service with a Shotgun” evokes the feelings of every retail worker across the planet, I’m sure. However, this bizarre mix of Coffee Talk, World War Z, and a touch of Doom(?) feels like the retail shift from Hell, in the best way possible.

Service with a Shotgun is available now on Steam. Developer Nolyn Vansyckle and publisher Silver Lining Interactive have also released a free demo if you want to check out the game before buying it. Here is what the press release says about the release:

To celebrate launch day, players can dive into the brand-new Launch Trailer, offering a tongue-in-cheek look at the world’s worst shift, complete with relentless zombie hordes, unhinged customers, and more workplace hazards than any HR department could handle. Keep an eye out for a special cameo from developer Nolyn!

Service With a Shotgun is a mash-up of visual-novel storytelling and wave-shooter chaos, not to mention a sharp jab at capitalism, that drops players into the tattered shoes of the last cashier alive. This tongue-in-cheek mashup of customer service and zombie blasting just seems like a lot of fun. I’m really excited to check it out myself, though it may be something I hold off on till our holiday break, so I can really dig into it.
