Apes Warfare gets November release date

There is part of me that really wants to dig out the DS, charge it again, and play some Advance Wars. No idea why! Anyway, I got an email that involved GigaQuests and STOIC Ent.’s Apes Warfare, an Advance Wars-esque game by way of Planet of the Apes. Yes, I might have instantly thrown this one on my Steam wishlist rather quickly. Not just for the idea, but rather the trailer that was released late last week.

“Get ready, commanders! Apes Warfare is entering Early Access on November 25th, 2025,” notes the short post on Steam. Just in time for us here at Phenixx Gaming to get far too busy to properly cover quickly, oh how fun! The post notes that the early access release will see:

A brand-new campaign with challenging missions and dynamic maps.
New characters[,] ready to lead your troops to victory.
New Superpowers that change the battlefield strategy.
New multiplayer maps for tactical battles with friends and foes.

The Steam description remarks on Apes Warfare: “Fight in fun, turn-based battles on a grid-based battlefield. Unlock powerful units by capturing labs. Play a story mode with challenging missions and cool surprises. Command unique units with special skills. Change your plan depending on varied terrain conditions. Easy to learn, fun to master!“

As I said earlier, it is very Advance Wars, right down to a red/orange vs blue team color scheme. Both are heavily militarized, and even the maps have a similar-looking style to Advance Wars. Before Nintendo’s lawyers get hard at hearing that, there isn’t really much else you could do to make a variation on that, so clamp it, you litigious pricks. With the early access release just a couple of weeks away on the 25th, we don’t have long to wait to get hands-on with Apes Warfare when it comes to Steam.
