Horror Card-Based Rogue-like Cheat Death Announced

We’ve gotten to the time of year where summery, chill vibes are slowly giving way to the dark and spooky vibes of Autumn. This is where some of my favorite games and genres start to blend, or in the case of GG Studio’s latest game, a horror-esque reference starts to show. We don’t have a release date, but GG Studio’s Cheat Death reminds me of the start of Billy and Mandy’s friendship with a certain reaper.

Keep in mind, Cheat Death is not a cartoony romp with Grim and friends. No, this is a more mystical affair, where each card is forbidden knowledge that just might keep you alive. Here is what the press release says about Cheat Death:

I’m sure Cheat Death won’t be out in time for Halloween, but getting a look at it is enough to catch my interest. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one as it develops, since it’ll be the only thing to fill the Billy-and-Mandy-shaped hole in my media space. Though any chance to cheat the reaper just sounds fun to me.
