There are bits of me that question if I want to cover certain games in particular. As an example, I ummed and ahhed about Cash Cleaner Simulator. There are bits of me that really sink when I see that “AI GENERATED CONTENT DISCLOSURE” bit of Steam, and that’s no different with Yuliy Oneshko/S-Grade Games’ Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch. Sure, the disclaimer notes that the AI-generated content is “background music partially generated with AI” in a trailer, but it nonetheless makes me second-guess my excitement.
Released today on Steam, Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch is a somewhat cozy-ish hooch merchant – the email stood out with the title “[a] Farming Simulator About Booze.” Sign me up! I’m all for the moonshine production and tycoon games, as some of you may already know. However, as the title suggests, that isn’t the only bit of uniqueness to this weird little solo-developed gem. You, in fact, play as an adorable little Raccoon as you dumpster dive and basically, Only Fools and Horses-style, make money.
The email/press release isn’t very long in explaining Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch, simply reading: “Trailer Park Tycoon blends farming and shop management with a heavy dose of dark humor and eccentric characters. Playing as an anthropomorphic raccoon, you’ll start with a cluttered patch of land and build your own empire within the chaotic world of a trailer park.” Interacting with neighbors, building a store, and producing homemade cider and wine, later expanding to selling illegal substances.
I’m still a little disappointed by the AI-generated bit; it is just something I don’t like, even if it is “just” background music in a trailer. Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch is still interesting with its anthropomorphic characters, dark undertones, and the fact that I’m a slut for business management. I believe Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch should be out as this article goes live, and will be available (according to the press release) only for Windows. At the time of writing, there is no price listed, though I’m sure that’s been corrected now that it should be out.
Paint me intrigued. I like the look, the feel, and the general idea of Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch. Here is hoping it is living up to all the hype I’ve built up around it now, and it isn’t like that disclaimer on Steam that makes your heart drop a little.
