Slime Rancher 2 gets Full Release Date

I really enjoyed my time with the original Slime Rancher. However, when Slime Rancher 2 came to Early Access, I chose to wait because I wanted to experience the game to the fullest extent. Now, Monomi Park has announced the full 1.0 release date for Slime Rancher 2, and we don’t have to wait much longer.

Slime Rancher 2 will be released in full on September 23^rd. Coming out of Early Access, Slime Rancher 2 will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. Here is what the press release says about the announcement:

“Rainbow Island awaits! Monomi Park, creators of the top-rated Slime Rancher franchise, are pleased to share that Slime Rancher 2 will exit early access and fully launch on September 23[^rd] with digital editions for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

The full release [v1.0] will be chock-full of new content and gameplay updates, including: Quantum Drones, a twist on a fan-favorite which not only can help automate your ranch but can also roam the island to find resources; plenty of additional blueprints offering decor variants, gadgets, and upgrades; and new sections of the Labyrinth to explore as you uncover the incredible secret behind Rainbow Island, solve the ongoing mysteries, and save the Far, Far Range—a finale you won’t want to miss. All together, this launch culminates in the best and most complete version of the Slime Rancher 2 experience to date.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Slime Rancher series, the team is excited to announce a partnership with iam8bit to release physical editions of Slime Rancher 2 on Jan. 14, 2026, for PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S. With exclusive artwork from legendary artist Yusuke Naora (FINAL FANTASY VII, X, XV), the global retail physical edition and iam8bit Exclusive Edition will both contain a physical copy of the game on a region-free disc and a fold-out poster featuring the custom illustration.

Slime Rancher 2 is the latest installment in the award-winning hit series, having already won ‘Best Early Access Launch’ at the 2022 Golden Joystick Awards and ‘Best 3D Visuals’ at the 2023 Unity Awards. Players journey as Beatrix LeBeau and explore the vibrant world of Rainbow Island, a mysterious land brimming with ancient technology, unknown natural resources, and an avalanche of new slimes to discover.

After launching Slime Rancher 2 into early access in September 2022, Monomi Park has since released multiple content updates for the game, including new areas such as Powderfall Bluffs and the expansive Grey Labyrinth, which doubled the size of the game world, along with even more new slimes, a dynamic weather system, creative tools and gadgets, and more mysteries to solve in the expanded story. Even more will be revealed with the full game release, making Slime Rancher 2 the most feature-rich experience yet.”

Slime Rancher 2 currently has a Very Positive rating on Steam, along with an overall Very Positive rating since the Early Access launch. Fans of the original game have a lot to look forward to, and I’m excited to explore Rainbow Island. I’m also curious to see how the new slimes and dynamic weather system interact with each other. September 23^rd isn’t that far away, so we don’t have long to wait.
