Last week, developer Fatshark announced a new free update for the PVE team shooter Warhammer 40k: Darktide. This update, dubbed Nightmares and Visions, will include a variety of exciting gameplay features and will be available on March 25th for all players. Warhammer 40K: Darktide is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

Nightmares and Visons will feature a rework of Havoc Mode, a special endgame progression system. The new content will improve the difficulty of missions and add four new mutators, which are specific enemies and modifications designed to greatly increase difficulty. Players at level 30 or above can participate in Havoc Mode, and completing missions will unlock worthwhile rewards.

On top of this is the additional mode known as the Mortis Trials.  Players will face waves of enemies while building up their characters with random buffs, weapons, and special abilities. Completing trials will unlock more information surrounding the background of specific characters for those looking to dive more into the universe and lore surrounding the game. In celebration of this mode, there will be an in-game event hosted. Full details regarding this mode are still relatively sparse for now, but you can expect to hear more from the development team in the coming weeks.

The last major aspect of this update is a significant balance update to the Ogryn class. The talent tree will be reworked to allow for more diverse build options, and the character will receive balance adjustments and buffs. The new passive feature “Outta My Way!” will enhance Ogryn’s crowd control as dodging foes will now inflict a stagger to non-elite, human-sized foes. Additionally, the character will receive significant increases in overall survivability, ensuring his status as a premiere tank class. Furthermore, a large variety of tweaks were made to Ogryn’s weapon arsenal which will make him a more consistent threat on the battlefield.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid. I have a soft spot for Nintendo titles and RPG's but play all kinds of titles across a variety of platforms. Outside of games I love to play music and practice martial arts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
